Acting for Life
- is a theatre-inspired training program that develops confidence, creative presence, and authentic communication through the integration of body, voice, and imagination.
Led by Juliana Berezhnaya, an experienced theatre and opera director and educator, the course combines artistic practice with personal development, guiding participants toward greater awareness, expression, and connection.
Who It Is For
The program is open to anyone interested in developing creative and communication skills through experiential learning.
It is designed for:
- individuals seeking personal growth and self-confidence;
- professionals and teams aiming to enhance communication, leadership, and collaboration;
- educators and students exploring embodied and creative learning;
- artists and performers wishing to deepen their expressive tools.
No previous theatre experience is required — only openness to explore and learn through experience.
Purpose and Objectives
The aim of Acting for Life is to help participants rediscover the natural connection between body, mind, and imagination — a foundation for authentic communication and creative thinking.
Objectives:
- Develop physical and emotional awareness;
- Build clarity, confidence, and empathy in communication;
- Strengthen creativity, adaptability, and teamwork;
- Learn to transform artistic principles into real-life skills;
- Cultivate presence, spontaneity, and expressive freedom.
Course Structure
The course consists of 10 sessions of 2 hours each, combining physical, vocal, and creative training in a progressive, structured process.
Sessions 1–3: The Body and Awareness
Participants explore grounding, movement, rhythm, and spatial awareness. The goal is to release habitual tension, awaken sensitivity, and rediscover natural physical expressiveness.
Sessions 4–5: The Voice and Expression
Breath, resonance, and articulation become tools for communication. The focus is on connecting voice and body to create clarity and emotional depth in expression.
Sessions 6–7: Imagination, Basic Emotions, and Interaction
Through partner and group exercises, participants explore imagination and basic emotions, learning to recognise and express fundamental emotional states through body and voice. The work focuses on action–reaction, empathy, and creative listening — developing the ability to respond, not just act, and to communicate emotion with authenticity and precision.
Sessions 8–9: Improvisation and Creative Flow
Participants engage in guided improvisations and short etudes, where imagination meets structure. This stage encourages spontaneity, courage, and presence in unpredictable situations.
Session 10: Integration and Presentation
The course culminates in a personal creative reflection — a short individual performance or video etude — where participants bring together all elements of the training.
Outcomes
By the end of Acting for Life, participants gain:
- A deeper awareness of their physical and emotional presence;
- Confidence in communication and performance;
- The ability to connect and collaborate with others more effectively;
- Renewed creativity, clarity, and freedom in self-expression.
More than an acting course, Acting for Life is a practice for living with presence — a way to speak, move, and create with authenticity and purpose.
