HER STAGE FESTIVAL
A WEEK OF FEMALE VOICES, FEMALE STORIES AND BOLD THEATRICAL VISIONS
DATES: 1.08—8.08
LOCATION: THE NETHERLANDS
HER STAGE FESTIVAL brings together three authorial productions by TEATR FORMA: Three Sisters, Medea and 8 Women.
Directed and reimagined by Juliana Berezhnaya and performed by actresses of TEATR FORMA, these works place female characters at the centre — to be seen, to be heard, and to speak from within their own stories.
All three performances are united by a female gaze, strong visual language and a desire to retell, reconstruct and revision well-known narratives through a contemporary authorial perspective.
A festival of female presence, memory, transformation and voice.
Let’s create a female story together.
PROGRAMME
MEDEA
INSPIRED BY THE TRAGEDY OF EURIPIDES
A contemporary adaptation of the ancient myth, reimagined through a bold female perspective.
This women-led performance transforms the story of Medea into an emotionally charged exploration of betrayal, loss, power and liberation — raw, physical and powerfully present.
When betrayal destroys everything,
there is only one choice left:
the choice of oneself.
She loses trust, home and love.
She breaks the cycle of pain.
She steps into a terrifying decision in the name of personal freedom.
Medea is a flame that burns the past to ashes so that something new can rise.
Free. Dangerous. Real.
Emotions — exposed.
Actions — utterly honest.
Concept and direction: Juliana Berezhnaya
Performed by TEATR FORMA actresses: Eleonora Shafran, Elina Timashevskaia, Julia Hlavacova, Anna Hulchenko, Zhadyra Zhanbolova

THREE SISTERS
ADAPTATION OF ANTON CHEKHOV
A bold modern adaptation of Chekhov’s classic play, reimagined through female voices, memory and inner resistance.
Told by four actresses, Three Sisters places the female characters at the centre of the stage — their dreams, hopes, disappointments and invisible inner battles.
Against the background of change, uncertainty and global turmoil, the performance explores the fragility of human longing: the desire to escape, to love, to believe, to begin again.
This adaptation opens Chekhov’s world through a contemporary female gaze — intimate, emotional and visually symbolic.
A story of waiting.
Of choices not made.
Of dreams that keep people alive.
Direction: Juliana Berezhnaya

8 WOMEN
INSPIRED BY ROBERT THOMAS & THE FILM BY FRANÇOIS OZON
A thrilling stage adaptation of secrets, desire, family drama and hidden truths — reimagined through a female gaze.
In the middle of a snowed-in Christmas gathering at a secluded mansion, eight women are trapped together. Behind the elegant surface of family celebration, old wounds, rivalries, confessions and suspicions begin to unfold.
This production transforms the famous story into a sharp, playful and emotionally charged performance about women who are watched, judged, underestimated — and finally revealed.
A house full of secrets.
A family full of lies.
Eight women.
No escape from the truth.
Created as part of HER STAGE LAB, the performance brings together TEATR FORMA actresses and selected actresses-participants of the programme.
